An Alabama man is fighting for his life after he was allegedly blindsided with a hatchet while waiting at a Tucson bus stop with his wife on the morning of April 12. The attacker struck him in the back of the neck, police say.
The 10 a.m. attack left Jacob Couch on life support at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, while his wife is left wondering what prompted the violence.

According to (his wife), the attacker approached her and her husband and began yelling at them while they were waiting at the bus stop, which is less than a mile away from the University of Arizona’s campus.

“I told the man we’re leaving, and my husband bent down to, I guess, like, get our stuff, and he just came up behind him,” Kristen told the outlet, miming how the man allegedly swung the hatchet at her husband’s neck. “And walked away.”

Daniel Michael was arrested and charged in connection with the attack three days after it took place, according to local outlets KYMA, KGUN, and KVOA. Michael, 25, allegedly confessed to the crime after being shown surveillance video of the attack, telling authorities he had been drinking before the incident took place, the outlets report, citing police.

I agree that it will be plead down to a lesser charge. But hopefully it’ll be more than 10 years. I’d say 25 to life. Hopefully that overweight beast will continue to eat and get a lack of exercise in prison and will die of a heart attack by then.
