Quinterius Wooten, 15, was fatally wounded Thursday while Wooten and two other teen boys were allegedly playing with a gun and smoking marijuana in the back yard of a Boca Grande Boulevard residence.

Clayton County police officers were called to the home in an unincorporated area of Clayton County near Forest Park at about 7:15 p.m. The two boys with Wooten, ages 14 and 15, told responding officers he was shot in a drive-by shooting.

“After examining the evidence on the scene, officers quickly determined that they were being untruthful,” police spokeswoman Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said in a press release. “An interview conducted by detectives uncovered the fact that the 15-year-old male was the actual shooter.
