Toilets are essential facilities that we use every day in schools, hospitals, work places, restaurants, hotels, churches just to mention a few, yet Africa hesitates in talking about challenges faced as far as clean and hygienic toilets are concerned. Toilets can be germ ridden places and if attention, enough care is not taken to adopt hygienic practices we can contribute to the spread of diseases such as cholera,Diarrhea,Ascariasis, Typhoid etc. Poor Toilet Sanitation endangers public health

Africa Toilet Day is a day to take action. It is a day to raise awareness about all people who do not have access to a toilet – despite the human right to water and sanitation. It is a day to do something about it.

The Africa Toilette Foundation in collaboration with U.N has August 28th to mark Africa Toilet Day. The Theme for this year's Africa Toilet Day will be announce later.
