Maurice went out for pizza....ends up with Federal hate crime charges
Muh pizza...
According to an affidavit, 31-year-old Maurice Hopkins made “racial remarks” to a group of customers inside Zämbies Pizza in the NoDa neighborhood on June 8, 2024.
Once the comments were made, the affidavit said Hopkins was asked to leave, prompting him to get “upset” and say that he “had something for them” and that he was going to “get his AR.”
The document then alleged that Hopkins returned in a white car shortly after, and a person noticed he had a gun. The affidavit said the person ran outside “to distract him from going into the store.” Hopkins then pointed the gun at him and demanded he get his pizza.
