As if there wasn't already enough dindus in video games!

As per a Kotaku report on the subject yesterday, a Steam group has picked up traction to the tune of around 70,000 members at the time of writing. It's called 'Sweet Baby Inc detected', as if to warn discerning consumers of invasive DRM or something.

Instead of warning against potentially-sketchy software, though, these concerned gamers have instead perceive a rising tide of ideology that's somehow taking over the industry by force. Kotaku's senior editor spoke to a handful of members from the group's discord, who were primarily concerned about "ideological worldviews that I believe have taken hold of the Western world, media, and gaming as a whole" and "race and identity group quotas".

Sweet Baby employees maintain that, overall, their job is to provide assistance to companies that already want to improve already-existing diverse elements. As per the company's CEO Kim Belair: "But the perspective is never that we’re coming in and injecting diversity … For the most part, it’s the reverse. It’s that a company has created a character and they want to make that character more representative and more interesting."

Sweet Baby Inc was only founded in 2018, but its clients now include Xbox, Microsoft’s dominant video game platform and subscription service, Warner Bros, whose video game arm publishes Batman and Harry Potter games, Electronic Arts, which is behind the Battlefield series, the NFL, NHL and FIFA soccer franchises, the Sims franchise, as well as Star Wars games, Ubisoft, the makers of the popular Assassin’s Creed series, Square Enix, makers of Final Fantasy, and Wizards of the Coast, who control the Dungeons and Dragons franchise.

According to the DEI firm, it begins with “an all hands review” of the project followed by rewriting it. Sweet Baby Inc boasts that its people “aren’t afraid of breaking something down to build it back up.” And what they offer is “sensitivity readings”, the same process that led to the rewriting of classic books by everyone from Ian Fleming to Agatha Christie, to “risk” assessment.

Gamers claim to have spotted the results of Sweet Baby’s involvement in Assassin Creed: Red, a game featuring a black samurai in 17th century Japan, and Suicide Squad, featuring a character that appeared to be modeled on anti-civilization activist Greta Thunberg.

Similarly Kingdom Come Deliverance has been called racist by some libtards, because there are no niggers in medieval central Europe, where the story of that game is placed.

FBI, DHS Partner with Gaming Companies to Fight “Extremist Gamers”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are coordinating with gaming companies to root out “domestic extremist content” among their player bases, a new government report suggests. According to the Government Accountability Office (GAO), a nonpartisan agency that audits other government departments on behalf of Congress, the FBI and DHS should use the same strategies that allow them to police extremism on social media to regulate the gaming industry.
