      Batwings for one burglarizing buck, hospital for another, by gunslinging homeowner

      For once, a homeowner isn't facing charges for defending himself and his family.

      The homeowner shot and killed one man in the home invasion on January Street Friday night, and shot a second suspect multiple times, according to Murfreesboro police. Kevin Ford, 52, is identified as the person who died at the scene.

      Police found the second intruder, 42-year-old Clifford Wright, at the Salvation Army. He went to the hospital for treatment of his gunshot wounds, before heading to jail.

      According to police, the homeowner was able to get his gun after the two masked men broke into his home, used a Taser on a his dog and held his teenage son at gunpoint.

      I was stationed in TN for a brief period in the service. That was way back in 1975 and it was really kinda fucked already. I suppose it depended upon where you went but the tar pigeons has a pretty good infection going in Memphis at the time.

      Funny you should mention Elvis. I was in Memphis when he left the building. I was in the trave office on base waiting in line when the news came on the radio. I watched two white. girls in front of me dissolve onto the linoleum. A real meltdown. Didn't much bother be but I was more of a Sklynrd fan.

      If this had happened in Florida, it probably would. No idea about Tennessee, though.
