Truth be told, Isa, it's happened to me. I applied for a long term sub teacher position - one for which I was very qualified and interviewed for - I did not get it. I googled my name shortly after getting the news and what came back was shocking. On top of the list was two comments I made on a crime article from Long Island, New York - where I grew up. I put it up over 3 years ago. Something to the effect of 'The changing face of Long Island, Get used to it...' Of course it was nigger in the pic.... The only way that comment could have come to the fore is if it had been called up both recently and repeatedly...

It would have been a fun gig at a good school... I was pissed..

Damn, this is so bad! I didn't think they were even after "normal people" already ("normal people" = no celebrities, rich people, etc.).

Yeah... Not fun... I've been a good saver, house is paid, I'm not hurting. Social Security has kicked in... Money would have been nice but damn, I do miss teaching. I've taught everywhere from Alaska to Micronesia...You do well doing things you enjoy.

I am of course aware it's absolutely not the same at all, but did you consider doing e.g. youtube videos (or something similar)? It could be worth it, considering how bad today's left wing indoctrinated classes are. That, by the way, would be something really useful: An "open source" online university, created by sane people, following scientific standards.

I actually wanted to do that - but I realized that it's probably too early. (Because for most people briar still has too many limitations due to its design: Restricted to one device, and no possibility for backups. Of course, that's mostly due to it being p2p. I hope they'll be able to address a few of the things in the future.) Still noteworthy to keep an eye on, imho.

I'd be one among many. Harvard actually has many of it's classes on line/on YouTube. Check this out from Yale and that's just the first 2 or so weeks of course work... The haiir goes up on the back of my neck just reading those titles... I took that years ago... Geesh........ Murderous stuff. Anyway... tough competition for limited pay back.

Wow, you are right! Actually, I didn't even check that before I posted, it just crossed my mind. (Because I personally prefer text to video, to learn stuff. Most of the time that's more efficient for me.)
