    Ontario Mathematics Coordinators Association (OMCA): 2+2 != 4

    News from Canada:
    Two plus two no longer equals four, according to members of the Ontario Mathematics Coordinators Association (OMCA), who consider the equation to be a white-supremacist dog whistle instead of a basic mathematical truth.

    According to a webinar created by OMCA president Jason To, proponents of math’s political neutrality who use the phrasing “2 + 2 = 4” are engaged in an act of “Covert White Supremacy.”

    My passion for equity and anti-racism led me to co-author Addressing Anti-Asian Racism: A Resource for Educators, which provides a historical context for anti-Asian racism, the need to work in allyship to dismantle anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism by tackling white supremacy, and gives teachers and principals practical steps to make anti-oppressive educational spaces.
    (yes, my proficiency in a 25+ year-old video game is an integral part of my identity).
    Why does that not surprise me?

    Having taught math a few years back, I've followed curriculum developments in places like Ontario. There are familiar patterns with other filthy, woke cesspools like Kommifornia. All of them take their lead from the demonRATS who vilify all things conservative and anything that proves their pet apes to be the inferior sub-specie they are.

    4 years ago there was a movement in KommiFornia mathematics curricula development circles that allowed for wrong answers in Mathematics. This is mirrored in what is documented here, above, from Ontario... 2 + 2 does not necessarily have to equal 4. There's lots of pedagogical bullshit wrapped around this absurdity, but what it comes down to is that as long as the monkeys understand that there are 'more' after an addition function, the answer can be considered correct. Note that in answering addition problems using negative numbers, there must be an acknowledgement that there are 'Less'.... Essentially, the chimps have to understand that the proper movement along a number line is a function of mechanics/signage of the problem.

    Using the above example from Ontario, 2 + 2 = anything more than 2 would be considered correct. Why? Any such answer would be moving to the right on a given number line from the starting point '2'.

    It's patently disgusting. Further, I saw no differentiation between the filthy little monkeys being able to figure out that there are 'more or less' as an answer, and those who are able to derive a traditionally correct answer.

    The entry in the Zulu dictionary for “number,” by the way — ningi — means “numerous,” which is not at all the same as the concept of number. It is clear, therefore, that there is no concept of number in Zulu.

    Exactly, you can't believe it! Whatever the shitlets (or any other "discriminated" group) doesn't understand (or refuses to learn), has to go.

    Sadly, it's the same over here: For example, AC technology used to be part of physics class in high school. I was taught AC circuits, pointer diagrams, complex numbers, oscillating circuits, etc. Today, energy supply in schools is just empty drivel, and complex numbers aren't a part of the curriculum anymore. Instead, children get taught the feminist version of math&physics: "green" energy is good, because it "feels good", the fundamentals are bad, because that's "old white male" stuff. Therefore, the tools to check if something works or not aren't taught anymore. Dumbing down to the 10th degree! Sadly, most politicians over here already reached that state of dumbness. (Especially in Germany. I won't go into the details here, because that makes me so mad that I would just get a heart attack.)
