Boy, 4, fatally shoots himself in the head while playing with his father's gun in backseat of car while his mom smoked pot in the front

A four-year-old boy has accidentally killed himself with a gunshot to the head after finding his father's gun in the backseat of a car that his mother was smoking marijuana in.

Jarion Walker was sitting in the back of a car in Westwego, a suburb of New Orleans, on Saturday with two younger siblings while his mother and another adult smoked marijuana in the front seat, authorities said.

An autopsy Monday found that his gunshot wound was self-inflicted, Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto said at a news conference late Monday, The Times-Picayune/The New Orleans Advocate reported.


'It was a contact wound to the forehead, right above the right eyebrow,' Jefferson Parish Coroner Gerry Cvitanovich said.
