      Former Pirates pitcher Felipe Vazquez sentenced in sexual assault case



      Former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Felipe Vazquez has been sentenced to jail time for sexually assaulting a Westmoreland County teenager.

      Vazquez will serve two to four years in state prison after being found guilty of statutory sex assault and several other sex crimes following a relationship with a then 13-year-old girl.

      The former All-Star pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates told a jury in May he asked the alleged victim in this case how old she was and even asked for photo identification, before engaging in conversations of a sexual nature with her.

      A "relationship" with a kid? I'm hoping it's a sowlet, in which case no crime was committed, and not a human child whose parents are morons or degenerates.

      During the trial, both the prosecution and defense agreed that Vazquez drove from Pittsburgh to Scottdale in August of 2017, where he had sex with the accuser, who was 13-years-old at the time.
