Police in Chesapeake announced late Saturday night that Raheem Lamont Cherry, 19, has been charged in the death of Laura Miles, whose body was found in a wooded area last week.

Cherry, of Chesapeake, has been charged with first-degree murder, robbery and abduction, police announced in a press release. He’s being held at the Chesapeake City Jail.

On May 17, police asked for help finding Miles, 61. Her car was found at an apartment complex off Bangor Drive in Chesapeake, away from her home and job and in an area she doesn’t normally visit. Her body was found the same day.
