    This can't be good.

Stocks dipped as traders considered details of President-elect Joe Biden’s newly unveiled stimulus proposal and weighed the likelihood of the package getting advanced quickly through Congress. COVID-19 concerns also flared anew as stay-in-place restrictions tightened across parts of Europe, and new data showed U.S. retail sales unexpectedly fell for a third straight month in December.

Biden’s proposal, designated the American Rescue Plan, seeks to offer stimulus payments of $1,400 to most Americans, increase enhanced federal unemployment benefits by $100 to $400 per week and extend these through the end of September, and provide $350 billion in aid to state and local governments, which had been excluded from Congress’s latest package. It also seeks to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour and provide additional funds to schools and to ramp up COVID-19 testing and vaccination, among other provisions.
I hope it doesn't come down to us having to fill our wheelbarrows with cash just so we can buy a loaf of bread.

If you thought it was bad before when you had to pay $10 for a Happy Meal, wait until the minimum wage is raised again and it costs $16.

I can't help but wonder if part of soy sauce's popularity relates to its ability to give food a "meaty" flavor at a cheap price. I prefer Kikkoman Less Sodium Soy Sauce. They pay me $1 every time I say that. (that was a joke; it is pretty good stuff, though)

I simply refuse to accept that all politicians actually believe for one second that any of these socialist ideas will work for anything other than getting the votes of stupid people who can't do basic math (read niggers and dims).

They do know that it only leads a country deeper into socialism - a hole that you simply cannot climb out of.

This is what they want. It gives them power and money while the 1% gets richer and everyone else becomes slaves to them.

Slavery is for niggers and the last time I looked in the mirror I didn't see a nigger eating a happy meal bought with food stayumps.

I just thought about this, but I think the markets realized that now that congress is going to be focusing entirely on the impeachment, they won't be able to take care of any stimulus stuff.

It's just going to be endless political infighting from here on out, because the elites have more important things to worry about than taking care of the American people.

edit: I think it would be good if the price of oil kept decreasing. Not to the negative numbers, but low enough to make it cheaper at the gas station.

The New Orleans signature Po' boy sandwich came from the Great Depression. It was cheap, basic and could fill you up for a nickle at the time.

Not all local depression era foods where quite as tasty or withstood the test of time. A slightly smaller cousin of the capybara, the nutria (locally called nutrarats) were used in place of beef. Yes, they were ground up and sold as hamburgers.

Once the Biden depression is in full swing, I recommend Datu Puti soy sauce for nutrarat and broccoli. Nutria should soon be plentiful as they have invaded California. Eat up bitches, YOU VOTED FOR IT!!

Seriously though, that's the best SS I've found.

On a related note to the Depression Era food topic, have you noticed how on the tv news they seem to be talking about edible bugs a lot?

I wonder if their plan involves feeding us bugs.

I mean, if they spiced them up properly, they tasted okay, and the price was right, I wouldn't make much of a fuss, but it would be an obvious downgrade from eating animal meat.

If it's kosher, I'll eat it.

I've actually had cajun/creole spiced blackened grasshoppers dipped in garlic butter. Believe or not, they're actually pretty tasty once you get past the thought of it.

The price is right if you catch / raise them yourself!
