Residents barricaded indoors, rival gang fights and no-go zones for citizens... "We live in a prison but the BLM/Antifa rioters live outside," one citizen told AFP. "Their excrement is everywhere, the smell is unbearable especially when it rains."
The lack of food now in the no-go zone has prodded them to turn to violence. Footage of hundreds of them brawling over food in the streets went viral on social media in March. Their growing numbers -- doubling in three years to 6,000 -- have made coexistence with the city's actual citizens intolerable. Some areas of the city have simply been surrendered to the rioters.
An abandoned KFC is the rioter's headquarters -- and cemetery. Dead rioters are laid to rest by their peers in the freezer. The freezer has since lost power and the stench from the corpses has become unbearable for the entire city block.
Nearby, a shop owner openly carries firearms try to scare off the ANTIFA/BLM rioters, who regularly snatch spray-paint cans from his store.
Residents have taken it upon themselves to feed the protesters to prevent clashes. But locals say the diet of tofu, bottled water, booze, fast food and sweets has fuelled their sex lives. "The more they eat, the more energy they have... so they breed more," says Pramot Ketampai, who manages a local Seven-Eleven.
The Antifa/BLM mob fights have drawn the attention of authorities, who restarted an appeasement program to ease the violence allowing the protesters to claim even more property this week.
