Deputies say 50-year-old Kenyatta Bellamy confessed to killing his girlfriend and a man inside a home on Royal Ridge Drive in the Loughman area near Davenport, according to a post on the Polk County Sheriff’s Twitter page.
Deputies learned that the suspect, Kenyatta Bellamy, had bonded out of jail on March 24. His arresting charge was for failure to appear for a DUI manslaughter case. He was charged with the DUI manslaughter in Osceola in January 2018.
After bonding out of jail, Bellamy returned to his home where he allowed his girlfriend to live while he was behind bars. He learned another man was also living in the home which angered him, investigators said.

Bellamy had gone to dinner with a cousin Friday, bringing the girlfriend’s child along. Deputies say Bellamy serves as a father-figure to the young boy. Bellamy expressed his anger about the male occupant at his home and asked his cousin to leave him at a Wawa gas station because he did not want to return to the house on Royal Ridge.

Bellamy was promptly arrested by deputies. The 50-year-old explained to investigators he was outside pressure washing on Friday when he went inside and discovered his girlfriend and the man having intercourse so he “lost it,” according to a sheriff’s office release.

Deputies say Bellamy admitted to using a hammer and a knife to kill the victims and then lit a fire in the bedroom, closing the door. The fire extinguished before first responders arrived, investigators say.
