The problems began with the Thatcher Government 1990's Right To Buy scheme for social housing/Council Tenants, allowing such tenants anywhere the right to buy their rented proprty heavily discounted against true market value depending how long they lived there. If you lived there say twenty years, you got a hefty discount of maybe 30% of true private sector market value. So a property worth $100,000 on the open market would be sold to the tenant for maybe $35,000 (cash or mortgage) and resold at a huge profit after a few years statutory retention.
I find it outrageous a political ploy to get voters by subsidising such purchases meant a hugely depleted Council housing stock at low prices that would never occur in the private rented sector..To replenish lost housing stock, local Boroughs (aka Councils) made it a requirement that any new private housing development/estate of flats or houses were to have a proportion set aside for affordable housing in order to get planning permission. It shifts the housing list burden away from high rise existing aging stock to new housing at a stroke.
So 100 proposed new properties would need at least 25 set aside for "affordable housing", normally bought cheaply by a Housing Associations who then rent them out cheaply as social housing to rubbish like niggers with niglets, who get priority for housing. If you are a white family, white single, you will be at the bottom of the waiting list.
Imagine working hard to save for a mortgage, buy a nice house/flat and find your neighbour is a worthless unemployed nigger family renting the same
property on unemployment benefits and rent paid by the taxpayer.
Go figure that one out and the fairness of such a system....because that is what those sows in the newspaper article are doing.
