Oprah Winfrey Steps Away From Russell Simmons Accuser Doc, Pulls From Apple+

Oprah Winfrey is stepping away from a documentary that centered on a former music executive who has accused Russell Simmons of sexual misconduct.

The film has been among the highest profile doc projects set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. Winfrey, who until now had served as an executive producer on the film, planned to air it on Apple TV+ following the festival.

In response to Winfrey's decision, Time's Up Foundation president and CEO Tina Tchen said in a statement of her own: “Time's Up is in full support of the survivors who have spoken out about Russell Simmons. These women are brave. We believe them. We support Oprah Winfrey in maintaining that the victims’ stories deserve to be heard on their own terms. I've often wondered how much of this poor old victim metoo bullshit would be going on if prostitution were legalized. As you put it so pithily, it happens anyway we just don't call it what it is and those whores don't pay taxes or get regular blood work done when they trade ass for cash.

When you stop and think about it, men and women have been bartering for sex since the dawn of time - even inside the holy bonds of matrimony. Any couple out there that won't admit to trading dinner and a night out for a little marital bliss even if one really didn't want to give up one or the other is probably not being truthful. Yep. That is not to say there are no real victims out there but these Hollywood whores are NOT among them. When they were nobody they swallowed the bile, among other things to get where they wanted to be. Now that they are loaded and once again irrelevant, they use the "victim" card to get back into the spotlight. Years ago they would just be labeled a whore, which is what they are. You don't get to use your ass for grass and then pretend it never happened when the high wears off.
