Four people are dead including the suspect after an active shooting incident at a naval base in Pensacola, Florida, police said.

The shooter was identified as Mohammed Alshamrani, a Saudi national and member of the country's air force who was in the U.S. for flight training, law enforcement officials familiar with the investigation told ABC News. Investigators are trying to determine whether the shooting was terror-related, the officials said.

Back in /98 had a Saudi Air Force dune coon living next door to me in the barracks while stationed in Biloxi. This POS chain smoked 5 packs a day (big no no) inside his non smoking room. The cloud came right thru the wall into my room. He drank like a fish (big mudslime no no) and had a stack of porn on his desk where housekeeping could see it (Huge no no). He bragged about his loaded 45 he kept in his nightstand (MASSIVE no no). I asked him why he did it since we lived on base heavily protected by USAF security forces and he just said "you never know." He said he wasn't worried about getting caught with it because The AFSF turned a blind eye to the Saudis since they payed cash up front for training in support of fighter planes that WE SOLD THEM!

I went to go on base tonight to go to the Navy Exchange. It took me twenty minutes to get on base with traffic backed up 1/2 a mile at least. When I got to the guard shack, I asked what was up with the long lines and he replied "Heightened security because of what happened in Florida."

The first thing I thought was "oh yeah that happened." Then I thought "how common place is this nowadays that it just seems like nothing and I didn't even consider that this was the reason why?" No-one had to explain to me why it took 4 hours to get on base in the days after 9/11 or why there were Humvees parked at the entrances with fully loaded 50 cal's mounted, locked and loaded by some of the most angry looking Marines I've ever seen.

Without thinking I blurted it out not knowing or caring what religion the DOD police were (glad they can't touch me now that I'm retired.)

After a second, all I could say was "Well, you know, it's not like they haven't been telling us what they were going to do to us for the past 1400 years."
