The woman was waiting for a bus in Clifton's gaslight district. At about 7:30 a.m., at Ludlow Avenue and Telford Street, 18-year-old teenaper Keesean Savage approached and asked for a cigarette, which the woman gave him. Savage then disappeared behind a nearby building.

He returned and asked the woman if she would take photos of a car in a parking lot behind the building. Savage said he forgot his cellphone. The car, he said, had struck him a few days earlier. The woman agreed and walked with him behind the building. Savage pointed out a car. She began using her phone to take photos. CCTV shows Savage looking around the parking lot, to see if anyone else is there. He then approached the woman from behind and grabbed her around the neck. He dragged her about 12 to 15 feet to an alley, slammed her to the pavement and sexually assaulted her.
