A 19-year-old was arrested Sunday afternoon in connection with the shooting, police said. He has been charged with aggravated battery and could face more charges as the investigation unfolds.

Among the victims are two University of the Southwest basketball players: Lamar Lee-Kane, 22, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and Rontrell Hills, 23, who was injured, according to a Hobbs Police Department news release. Khalil Carter, 18, of Hobbs, and Kristal Avena, 24, of Hobbs, also died at the scene.
Along with Hills, Michael Major, 21, of Florida, Turon Windham, 20, of Chicago, and Jasmine Stansell, 20, of Amarillo, were taken to a Lea County hospital with injuries. Major was released, while the other three were airlifted to Lubbock, where they are being treated.

If that were a white man we would be reading a totally different story. It certainly would be labeled a "mass shooting" and we would see it the front page of ever liberal rag out there. I am surprised they didn't label him a straight up "teen". If the cops had shot him we know he would be labeled that way.
