MNPD officer caught on video slamming woman into car during stop resigns

A Metro Nashville Police Department officer under investigation for the possible use of excessive force resigned Wednesday, the department confirmed.

Barrett Teague, a four year veteran of the force, was decommissioned on July 4 after police became aware of a video of him in a physical confrontation with a feral she boon at a Nashville gas station.

In the video Ensley posted, she can be seen walking back to her driver's side door when Teague grabs her hands behind her back and attempts to restrain her. At one point Teague appears to slam Ensley against the car next to hers.

He was placed on desk duty pending an internal investigation after the video was made public. His resignation, which MNPD said is irrevocable and non-appealable, ends that administrative investigation.

If a cop is lawfully detaining someone who just walks away, nigger or not, what that cop did is admirable restraint. I've had my problems with cops. I have friends who've had worse problems with cops. But if you're in the wrong because of expired tags, you stay right there. I already say "Yes sir" and "No sir" to a lot of people, as a matter of politeness and courtesy that Sandman Sr. raised me to show. With cops, I absolutely will keep a situation from blowing over by being polite. "How can I help you?" "Yes sir." "Here you go, do you need anything else?"

I haven't had a ticket in a long time, but funny how I've never been in danger of being shot, all because I kept my hands on top of the steering wheel, I didn't make sudden moves, and I carefully reached into the glove box for registration and insurance. Nor has a cop had to restrain me or draw his weapon after pulling me over.
