A mother in Georgia is heartbroken, shocked and angry after her babysitter's German Shepherd, who had been like a part of their family, mauled her five-month-old girl to death Wednesday.

Terika George's daughter, Paige Bradley, was being babysat by her mother's roommate, who police described as a longtime friend of the family's, in their Forest Park home Tuesday night.

Her roommate told police he had put the infant to sleep on a bed, then he fell asleep in a different room.

George told police that when she returned home, she saw her roommate was asleep, and she went to check on the baby.
