Ol' Nigger Ed

Nigger Ed lived about 5 miles from me. He had 23 children, 4 with the first wife, 19 with the second. Never took a penny in public money. He farmed, cut pulpwood, and did mechanic/auto salvage to make money to feed his horde.
One day the former forester for Alcoa (he subcontracted Ed and whatever niglets Ed brought along to cut pulpwood) and I dropped by Ed's house while some kind of fambly get together was going on. Ed was cutting a single small watermelon. A little niglet girl wandered up to Ranger Rick (the forester) and Rick handed her a dollar. Ed admonished,"No, no, no!!! If you give to one they'll all be wantin' a dolla, and I gots 85 grandchilluns."
Rick asked,"Well what have you done for them?"
Ed answered," I gots em dis watermelon!"
