I grew some awesome tomatoes from seed this year, as the starts are hard to come by. Dixie Golden Giants are what
they're called, and the fruit they yield is big, and solid, with a citrus-like flavor. No doubt about it, the best tomato I
ever grew, and I've got 50+ years of doing it. I highly recommend them. We lost our asparagus garden in 2012,
when a hurricane wrecked our houses, with all the surrounding landscape being trashed, due to house lifting
construction work. The beds for asparagus need 2-3 feet of good soil, then it takes a couple of years for it to
establish itself. We got a big bunch of spears every day for a month, so it's almost back to pre-storm levels.
Can't beat eating it grilled, with a little olive oil, and our dogs absolutely love it. We grow a grape tomato bush
just for them, and they help themselves to them all summer.

I didn't know asparagus is a thing in the US, I really thought that was something only known in Germany. I'd love to have enough space to grow asparagus, because it is extremely expensive here - and you are right, grilled with olive oil or butter, eventually a little bit of parmesan cheese, absolutely fantastic!Quote:
