Turned out my date's dad was some kind of grand pooh-bahh in the Clan - thus her overbearing preoccupation with the groids.
It also turned out that I dodged a bullet since the next time I saw her around town, she was 6 months preggers. This was roughly six months after our date.
Oh well...
