When the parents found out that she was going to marry a non-Japanese, at first the parents were horrified but when they found out her daughter was going to marry a White man their fears were somewhat abated. The stated: 'at least he is white and not black'.

The Japanese are on the short list for most racist people in the world. They have a shared language, culture, and lineage that they want to protect.
