Eric Moulds, a former National Football League (NFL) player, is being accused of knowingly spreading a sexually transmitted disease to single mothers in New York in a newly filed lawsuit.
A New York woman sued the former Buffalo Bills wide receiver on Tuesday for negligence and intentional causes of action, failure to disclose and infliction of emotional distress. The woman alleged that she contracted herpes after Moulds had sexual relations with her, knowing that he had the disease. The lawsuit also alleges that he spread herpes to several other women as well and that he "targeted single mothers who were Buffalo Bills fans living in Western New York."
The woman said she began communicating with Moulds on Instagram in 2018. By 2023, they had "developed a sexual relationship," according to the lawsuit.
The woman alleged that Moulds had sexual relations with her for the last time in November of 2023, and the encounter was "unprotected." She said she began experiencing symptoms the next month and later tested positive for herpes simplex virus type 2, which has no cure.
