The report concluded: 'A major peer-level conflict in the 21st Century will likely play out largely in the naval theaters of operations; unlike the surface Navy's last major war, which concluded 76 years ago, such a conflict will likely proceed swiftly and not permit significant time for organizational learning once it is underway.'

'Unless changes are made, the Navy risks losing the next major conflict.'

With the exception of a few Nat Turner types, I have to agree even if memories of Africa were gone after each second generation of slaves. I do think that the slaves wanted freedom, but most knew that they had no idea of what to do with it and knew that they had to have YT there for the gibs - medical care, food, directions, sense of purpose, safety from themselves and others and everything else needed for their basic hierarchy of needs.

I remember Sandman Sr. mentioning something about his Army days, a long time ago now. A guy in the basic training barracks was obviously not straight. How long did he last? Maybe he was doing it because he thought enlisting was a mistake, maybe he had to enlist to avoid jail and thought playing the fairy could get him out, maybe he was the real thing.

I witnessed how much the military went soft in the 90's. The difference 3 years made was jaw-dropping. I blame the shrinking of the services at the end of the Cold War, which lays at the feet of Dick Cheney and the commies in Congress back then.

Clinton and his cronies then royally fucked things up by allowing women on the carriers, into combat service support MOS's, etc.
