For years imams leading the Muslim communities in Germany have been educated by foreign-affiliated organisations. The majority of clerics working with (documented) 4.5 million Muslim sandniggers were connected with the Turkish-Islamic Union for Religious Affairs (DITIB), an organisation suspected of having ties with the Turkish government.

After long and heated debates in the country, a new association to educate imams, funded with an investment by Germany’s Interior Ministry, is to start working on 21 November. The pilot project is set to be launched in Lower Saxony.
