update When Smollet was supposedly attacked, he was carrying a submarine sandwich and talking on his cell phone. Video has him on camera for all but 60 seconds of the walk home. It was supposedly a vicious attack during which he fought back. But he arrived back at his apartment with both his phone and his sandwich intact.
