True, I observed that as well. Years ago, one of the first times I had been to the US and still believed the "They are just like us" nonsense, I was already annoyed by that exact behaviour. (Today I would not buy at a grocery store when there is only a nigger cashier.) So as long as there was nobody else waiting in line, I then usually gave it the silver first and waited until it started to count before I handed it the bills.
