A former Hoke County Department of Social Services employee was arrested and charged Tuesday with defrauding six current and former clients out of money.
The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office charged Ebonie Latoya Campbell, 39, with one count of embezzlement and six counts of obtaining property by false pretense, according to a news release.
“The investigation revealed that Ebonie Campbell had defrauded numerous clients and former clients of hers out of various amounts of money,” the release said.
