Police are responding to those that “peddle death” in Concord.
The Concord Police Department recently handed out over 80 charges, all related to heroin. After a several month-long operation targeting heroin dealers in the community, the department made 17 arrests, with 12 of those happening on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
A release from the department says “Like many other places across the country, Concord feels the impact of this epidemic and is not immune to the disruption this dangerous drug causes in society.”
Law enforcement officials said while they realize the department can’t arrest its way out of this epidemic, it will hold those accountable that are determined to peddle death in the community.
Of the 12 people arrested on Wednesday, police said seven of them are still in jail while the others made bond.
Five people are still wanted and those include:
- Montreall Sakeilo Barber: Two counts of PWISD heroin and two counts of sell/deliver heroin
- Ladaryl Rodriguez Benjamin: Two counts of PWISD heroin and two counts of sell/deliver heroin
- Brandon Gene Massey: Three counts of PWISD heroin and three counts of sell/deliver heroin
- Desmond Kareem Shamsid-Deen: PWISD cocaine and sell/deliver cocaine
- Demitri Antonio Cruse: Two counts of PWISD cocaine and two counts of sell/deliver cocaine
The people arrested were:
- Ke’Aundre Romell Cannon: Three counts of PWISD heroin, three counts of sell/deliver heroin and possession heroin
- Keanu Ahmad Braithwaite: Three counts of PWISD heroin, three counts of sell/deliver heroin, firearm by felon and PWISD marijuana
- Jeremy Abdull Cruse: Two counts of PWISD heroin and two counts of sell/deliver heroin
- Rodney Eugene Jackson: PWISD cocaine and sell/deliver cocaine
- Dominique Vontario Anderson: Three counts of PWISD heroin, three counts of sell/deliver heroin, MSDP CS within 1,000 ft. park and possession of heroin
- Jinynae Toe: Three counts of PWISD heroin, three counts of sell/deliver heroin and possession of heroin
- Denzel Khalib Shamsid-Deen: PWISD cocaine and sell/deliver cocaine
- Jamarquin Rushion Cooke: Two counts of PWISD heroin and two counts of sell/deliver heroin
- Desmond Cordell Mackin: Two counts of PWISD heroin and two counts of sell/deliver heroin
- Darnell Demarcus Cassell: sell/deliver Sch IV
- Evans Shajuan Wilson: Two counts of PWISD cocaine and two counts of sell/deliver cocaine
- Rodney Dale Mason: PWISD cocaine and sell/deliver cocaine
- Katrina Jones Moody: PWISD heroin and sell/deliver heroin
- Elliot Roseman: PWISD cocaine, sell/deliver cocaine, PWISD heroin and sell/deliver heroin
- Dominique Anderson: possession of heroin
- Ke'Aundre Cannon: possession of heroin
- Stotize T. Stevens: PWISD cocaine
