The original locks on the bike stations were overwhelmed by thieves ripping the bicycles out at an unprecedented pace

The bike-share program launched last fall with 200 bicycles at 20 stations and was supposed to grow to 500 bicycles at 50 stations in the spring. Instead, it has suffered so many thefts and maintenance backups that most of the bicycles are out of service.

The bicycles are outfitted with GPS technology, so the stolen or abandoned bikes were usually recovered. But thefts and other non-returns of the bicycles had become such an issue that two maintenance employees were devoted solely to bike recovery

200 bikes. $2.36 million.... $11,800 per bike.............

Who needs niggers when you've got rat-bastard thieving politicians who would sign off on bullshit like this. Niggers stealing / destroying the bikes is just the (rotted) cherry on the top of this steaming pile of shit waste of tax dollars.

$11,800 for a bike you have to share with strangers.

You could buy a used car for that price.

Program cost-$2.36 Million.

A collectivist program getting ruined by tnb- priceless.

For everything else there's your tax money.

With all the nigged out movie remakes these days, they out to do a remake of the Italian classic "The Bicycle Thief" and set it in Baltimore.

The combined purchase price of my last three vehicles is less than that. Guess I'm the oddball these days. I don't believe in pouring money into depreciating assets.

I wonder which politicians made a ton of money over this bike scam.
