However, in 2019, the British Film Institute discovered a British TV drama that depicted an interracial kiss between a black man and a white woman. The TV drama was broadcast on the British channel, ITV, in 1962.
This would predate the Star Trek episode by more than five years.
The British TV drama was called You in Your Small Corner and it only appeared once on TV in 1962. The plot involved a Jamaican man in London becoming involved with a white woman. The scene went beyond kissing as it also depicted the TV couple getting out of bed and getting dressed.
