NY for decades has been dumbing down what's called the Regents test. The questions have been made simpleton-level, because anything beyond 1+1=KFC is "racist." That still wasn't enough, so the percentage correct to pass has been reduced. It's something like only 60%. And the last I heard, city "educators" wanted to do away with the Regents entirely, so it may no longer be a requirement.
