MNPD identified the injured officer as Josh Baker, a 14-year veteran working in the East Precinct. A 31-year-old woman, identified as Nika Holbert, was also injured in the shooting.
Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said Officer Baker stopped a black Chevrolet Camaro owned by a person with outstanding drug warrants.
When Baker approached the vehicle, he learned the owner was not the driver and Aaron says the situation "devolved" into a shootout.
Holbert, who police identified as the driver, opened fire on Baker, shooting him in the torso. Baker returned fire, Aaron said.
After the shooting, Holbert drove away and crashed the car nearby. Officers rendered aid before paramedics arrived.

The cop had every right to search the vehicle because of the owner's outstanding warrants, and that's when he found drugs, giving him full power to arrest every nigger in the car. The niggerpotamus played dindu nuffins, ooking it didn't know why it was being pulled over. Yeah, sure, the car belonged to its new boo and it had no idea of all the drugs right there in the trunk, right?
The niggerpotamus is lucky it wasn't made good for shooting first. And now taxpayers have to waste money on the EMT services and hospital bill?
