Tyron Woodley broke rib in TKO loss to Colby Covington at UFC on ESPN+ 36

Tyron Woodley didn’t leave his Saturday fight unscathed.
The former UFC welterweight champion suffered a broken rib in his TKO loss to Colby Covington in the UFC on ESPN+ 36 main event in Las Vegas, he told UFC broadcast partner ESPN.
Woodley latched on to a guillotine choke after being taken down in the final round of his five-round fight against Covington. Soon after, he yelled out in pain, which forced the referee to wave off the fight to give Covington the TKO. Covington dominated the majority of the action prior to Woodley’s injury.
ESPN‘s Ariel Helwani on Sunday posted an X-ray obtained from Woodley of the broken rib. It is unknown how long the injury will keep the former UFC champion on the sidelines.
