Low-income students have long faced challenges in completing their homework because they lacked internet access or a computer. And as the pandemic forces many school districts to continue with remote learning — either full- or part-time — in the fall, experts worry those same students risk falling further behind.


As participation dropped, so did the students’ progress in the subject. The number of weekly lessons completed by low-income students plummeted 52% at the end of March, while high-income students completed 14% more math lessons in a given week.

“We've always had a digital divide, and it had long created problems like when kids go home after school,” said Jon Valant, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. “But when that is what school becomes, and the entire school day consists of things happening online, it really is tough. And it's scary.”


The issue with doing homework online for many kids was that they don’t have reliable high-speed internet at home on a device other than a smartphone.

If mammy sows wouldn't spend all the welfare money on KFC and malt likka, maybe they could afford laptops when they're on sale for $200 and even less? There's no excuse for even a "poor" family not to have a computer if they want one, and to have Internet access.

I was at the grocery store the other day and they have a thing now where before you pay they ask if you would like to donate $5 $10 or $20 to help local schools in our community. I told the checker not a chance, I've been forced to donate to the worthless school system for over 15 years through paying property taxes.

Absolutely, and parents don't get their money's worth even in human school districts like mine. How many school supplies and textbooks do they still have to pay for? That's what my dad used to complain about.

NYC spends $25K per student per year, averaging just 15 students per teacher, but lets say an average $15K and a small class of 20 students. That's $300K. What could those parents get for the same money to hire 3 or 4 very good teachers who'll cover all the real subjects? Hell, I could have done drawing and photography if I'd been needed to.

When you think of all the money spent, like $20K and 30 students per class, 6-7 teachers covering 200 students a year, it should infuriate anyone to think of all the wasted money. A school needs a new computer lab, wall, or parking lot repaved, and someone at the district will happen to have a buddy who owns a company.

It would happen were it not for voter fraud and the fact that Soros sold most of the voting machines in use in the areas and states that could easily flip.
