Michigan Lt. Gov. calls on feds to help communities of color with coronavirus, other disparities

Yesterday, Gilchrist was named the chair of the newly formed Michigan Coronavirus Task Force on Racial Disparities which was announced by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. The task force is directed with addressing racial disparities in health care during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. However, Gilchrist said the team will also examine ways to combat inequalities in the system for those in poverty.

African Americans make up 14% of Michigan’s population, but represent 33% of COVID-19 cases and 40% of the deaths. In Detroit, health officials say there are 5,824 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 251 deaths.
“We have a lot of work to do. That’s why this task force will be pulling on expertise from public health professionals, medical doctors, community leaders, faith leaders, to make sure we can respond to this immediately. So that people can recover and stop dying from this virus," Gilchrist said.
No it won't. It will just find newer and more effective ways of funneling Whitey's tax dollars to dindus because coronavirus.
