Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) Has been accused of being a paid agent of the Qatari government and using its position in Congress to access sensitive information for Iran’s benefit, according to testimony in a civil lawsuit in Florida.
The complaint came during the testimony of Canadian businessman Alan Bender—born in Kuwait—who was testifying at the trial of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani according to Arab multimedia Al Alarabiya.
Bender—speaking from Toronto on video—told the Florida District Court that he met with Qatar's ruler’s secretary for Qatar Security Affairs and two other senior Qatari officials.
All three supposedly credit themselves for Omar’s meteoric rise. “If it wasn’t for our cash, Ilhan Omar would be just another "black" Somali refugee in America collecting welfare and serving tables on weekends,” the three officers said in the affidavit.
He also said that once Omar took office, it used its position in the House to access sensitive information that it transmitted to Qatar and, through them, to Iran.
