'Drunk' Detroit mother, 22, is charged with involuntary manslaughter after her 18-day-old baby is found dead in a bathtub
Investigators say 22-year-old Jaila Thomas had been drinking and was alone in her apartment Monday when she found Lauren Williams unresponsive.
Police said the mother told police she woke up and found her baby floating face down in the bathtub.
Medics pronounced the girl dead after being unable to revive her.
Thomas, was taken into police custody on Monday morning and appeared in court by video from jail on Thursday.
