But after his release, Samson went a campaign of physical and mental abuse against two women by raping imprisoning and threatening to kill them.
A jury at Bradford Crown Court on Monday found Samson guilty of 24 counts of rape, two counts of control and coercive behaviour, threats to kill and three counts of false imprisonment
Samson was handed a life sentence with a minimum of 32 years in prison.
Throughout his trial, Samson, of Liverpool, refused to take the stand and also refused to give evidence.
