A 22-year-old Sudanese man was jailed for beating an 80-year-old pensioner
As Akec Akec was handed his sentence he yelled and swore at the magistrate
He was drunk and high on cannabis when he assaulted Geelong man John Drake
Mr Drake still has scars from the attack and has ongoing side effects as a result
Akec Akec accused the magistrate of being 'unfair' as he received a 14 month prison term with a non-parole period of eight months.
With time served he could be back on the streets in as little as six months, 7 News reported.
While under the influence of alcohol and marijuana the 22-year-old schizophrenic punched John Drake in the face twice and broke his nose.
Another man then split the Geelong resident's head open with a hockey stick.
