Darius Leon Curry, 26, of Pompano, Florida offered to give two teenage girls a ride from Lexington Market on Wednesday, police said. Both girls agreed to the ride and got into the vehicle, police said.
The 16-year-old female victim gave Curry their drop-off locations by entering the addresses into his smartphone for navigation assistance, police said. Curry first dropped off the friend at her home, then proceeded to the 16-year-old victim's house, police said.
While en route to the teenage victim's home, Curry pulled over in the 2600 block of Waterview Avenue, climbed onto the front passenger seat where the victim was sitting, overpowered her, forced her pants down and sexually assaulted her, police said.
After the sexual assault, Curry drove the victim home, police said. Once the victim got out of the car, she took out her cellphone and recorded Curry as he drove away, police said.
She was able to get a video recording of Curry's license plate, vehicle make and model, police said. She then called police and relayed the suspect's vehicle information.
