Police found her cowering in the bathroom of their apartment after following a trail of blood once they arrived
Authorities were called to the scene by Mehmood's brother who had gone over to check on them after seeing a worrying Facebook post he wrote
They arrested Mehmood, who had fled, elsewhere after he called authorities
He is in custody awaiting his first court date on three capital murder charges
