A Rocky Point she boon sow suspected in a prior hit-and-run on North College Road is accused of ramming two police cars during a subsequent chase Thursday morning.

Traneeta Shonta Lloyd, 38, struck a vehicle at the intersection of Martin Luther King Parkway and North College Road around 8:45 a.m and then took off.

An officer with the Carolina Beach Police Department spotted Lloyd’s black Chevy truck and alerted Wilmington police who found Lloyd in the parking lot of Costco.

Lloyd refused to stop and side-swiped a WPD patrol car as she pulled back onto North College Road where she continued southbound until stopping at the Market Street overpass.

Dandron said Lloyd refused to exit her truck and then rammed the Carolina Beach police officer’s car. After the collision, Lloyd was unable to drive off.

She was eventually “extracted” from her truck and taken into custody, Dandron said. While removing Lloyd from the truck, an officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Lloyd was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, resist/delay/obstruct a public officer, speeding to elude arrest with aggravating factors, and driving while impaired.
