Enterprise Rent-A-Car Manager Strangles Customer for Complaining, Charged with Battery
SPRING HILL – A customer’s courtesy ride from Enterprise Rent-A-Car turned into a ride from hell Friday, after the driver physically attacked a man in front of his infant child.
According to reports, Daniel Brotschul returned a rental car to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car located at 4140 Commercial Way and asked for a courtesy ride home. Branch Manager Jonathan Johnson, 27, agreed to drive Brotschul and his child home. While heading southbound on Commercial Way, Brotschul became concerned with Johnson using his cellphone and driving. When he asked Johnson not to use his phone, Brotschul says Johnson became “extremely aggressive” and pulled into an IHOP restaurant parking lot. Johnson immediately demanded that Brotschul exit the vehicle and told him, “I’m going to give you five seconds to get out of my vehicle,” after Brotschul hesitated. Out of fear for his safety, Brotschul exited and proceeded to try and retrieve his child from the back seat. That’s when Johnson, who stands 6’8” and weighs 230 lbs., grabbed Brotschul around the neck with both hands and choked him for about 3-seconds. Johnson then grabbed him by the shirt, causing it to rip.
