The Beaufort Police Department has arrested a CHIMP on attempted murder charges.
Officials say the shooting happened Monday night on Southside Boulevard. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower part of his body.
Police say 19-year-old Jontez Johnson is charged with attempted murder and malicious injury to personal property.
