One of our reporters did some research and talked with a group of Afghans withdrawing money from a Greek bank. According to them they all receive 400 euros monthly, to use without regulation.
With at least 60,000 asylum seekers stuck in Greece we have an idea of what is happening with the EU’s taxpayer money.
After some non-verified extrapolation we multiply 60,000 persons with 400 euros and conclude that the costs of the migrant “free money” is 24 million euros a month and 288 million euros a year. This amount does not include the costs of housing, health care and other forms of aid.
