The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office announced 16 arrests on drug-related charges as a part of an ongoing initiative called “Operation Middleman.”
Operation Middleman, which began in 2017, is part of an effort to target lower- and mid-level drug dealers in Edgecombe County, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
“Operation Middleman is part of a long-term investigation that focuses on the drug dealers that the citizens see on the street and in the communities. These dealers are the ones that are responsible for getting the drugs into the hands of our sons, daughters and friends,” said Detective Lt. E.W. Muse in a press release. “Many times the average citizen does not know who the large distributors of narcotics are, but know the person that stands on their street and that’s in their neighborhood, pushing these drugs in the communities.”
The suspects arrested so far as a part of Operation Middleman include:
■ Jerrod Donta Lawrence, 27, of the 900 block of King Avenue in Princeville; charged with sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $35,000.
■ Quantell Michael Brown, 34, of the 200 block of Bonnie Lane in Princeville; charged with sell or deliver cocaine and possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. His bond was set at $250,000.
■ Trumaine Jabbar Clark, 32, of the 200 block of Ashland Avenue in Rocky Mount; charged with sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, possession of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for selling cocaine. His bond was set at $17,000.
■ Matthew Darnell Pittman, 26, of the 20 block of Christopher Walk in Rocky Mount; charged with two counts sell or deliver heroin, two counts possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin and two counts of conspire to sell/deliver heroin. His bond was set at $30,000.
■ Stephen Carl Worley, 47, of the 2500 block of Wintergreen Road in Nashville; charged with sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and maintaining a vehicle to sell cocaine. His bond was set at $5,000.
■ William Marshburn, 50, of the 2100 block of Bulluck School Road in Rocky Mount; charged with sell or deliver cocaine and possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. His bond was set at $5,000.
■ Anthony Gerald Wiggins, 62, of the 400 block of Goldleaf Street in Rocky Mount; charged with two counts sell or deliver heroin and two counts possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin. His bond was set at $5,000.
■ Jennifer Paige Bailey, 41,of the 2800 block of Old Wilson Road in Rocky Mount; charged with two counts sell or deliver cocaine and two counts possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. Her bond was set at $5,000.
■ Rosa Mae Marshburn, 51, of the 400 block of Millbranch Road in Sharpsburg; charged with sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. Her bond was set at $5,000.
■ Robert Woodrow Wilson III, 40, of the 2800 block of Pole Cat Lane in Rocky Mount; charged with sell or deliver , possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin and conspire to sell or deliver heroin. His bond was $5,000.
■ Patrina Luvs Lynch, 36, of the 600 block of Aventon Gin Road in Whitakers; charged with two counts of sell or deliver heroin, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin and two counts of conspire to sell or deliver heroin. Her bond was set at $5,000.
■ Gary Junior Hinnant, 34, of the 1100 block of Russell Street in Rocky Mount; charged with sell or deliver cocaine and possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. His bond was set at $10,000.
■ Vertina Rae Cooper, 44, of the 600 Wahree Street in Tarboro; charged with sell or deliver cocaine and possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine. Her bond was set at $5,000.
■ John Christian Robbins, 44, of the 1300 block of Woodland Road in Tarboro; charged with sell/deliver heroin and possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin. His bond was set at $5,000.
■ Michael Alex Harrell, 53, of the 100 block of Edgewood Drive in Pinetops; charged with possession of heroin. His bond was $2,500.
■ Beverly Lewis Spain, 53, of the 2200 block of Robin Drive of Tarboro; charged with sell or deliver heroin, possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin. She was placed under a $5,000 bond.
In addition, warrants have been issued for the following Twin County and Scotland Neck residents:
■ Leon Sykes, 30, of the 1100 block of Branch Street of Rocky Mount; facing three counts of sell or deliver heroin, possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin and conspire to sell heroin.
■ Lorenza James Taylor, 29, of 2400 Shreve Road in Rocky Mount; facing three counts of sell or deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine.
■ Derrick Demon Rone, 43, of the 100 block of Parrish Court in Rocky Mount; facing two counts of trafficking heroin.
■ Ernest Cleveland White Jr., 62, of the 600 block of East 13th Street in Scotland Neck; facing two counts of sell of deliver heroin.
■ Javon Lamont Singletary, 34, of the 100 block of Camellia Court in Rocky Mount; facing four counts of trafficking heroin.
■ Carl Antonia Deans, 48, of the 1500 block of Tadlock Avenue in Rocky Mount; facing charge of sell or deliver heroin and possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin.
■ Nakita Demetria Grimes, 44, of the 300 block of Woodland Avenue of Rocky Mount; facing three counts of sell or deliver cocaine and possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine.
